The Seven Deadly Sins & The Seven Heavenly Virtues:

Though most would associate the animal kingdom as a symbol of nature and purity, the seven deadly sins of the ego-mind are associated with certain animals symbolically. Without being too vague, but at the same time without giving out too much detail about my work, what is depicted on the left side are the latin forms of: Lust, Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, Envy, Sloth, Pride and the added symbols of Addiction and Temptation.

The right side depicts the Seven Heavenly Virtues: Chastity, Temperance, Charity, Diligence, Patience, Kindness and Humility.

A man of purity and instinct - bare naked as when once born - torn, beaten and malnourished - must decide through free will, how he must live for himself and mankind. Of these 14 (16) "states of mind" and "choices of action" comes the ego. These choices become thought. Thought is led to action and action is led to lifestyle. What comes after life from the resulting choice is something purity can define; and skeptics to never understand. The butterfly of thought consciousness floats above the mans crown chakra.

This piece is the largest I have worked on thus far. It was a milestone for me, and before I began working on it, I knew that it was going to be one. It took an estimated 82 hrs to complete and painstaking detail and research to execute - something I have never really done before for any of my paintings. I call this piece a milestone for me, because from this point on, all my pieces will look different from anything I had previously done (all my work from 2002 and on is on whoisharo.com - anything prior to 2002 is history and in my personal keeping)

The price for this piece is $1700.00, but I am flexible on this. The piece will be varnished next week and framed thereafter. 'Free Will' is '000089' of my works.

Here is a 6 minute video about the piece. Thank you all for reading. I'm excited to move on to my next piece and for you all to be stepping with me in this journey called a dream.

Blessings,
H
